This week, Instituto Piaget Middle School proudly celebrated one of the most meaningful academic events of the school year: the Secondary Spelling Bee Competition for first, second, and third grade students.
Throughout the past months, our students prepared with great dedication, discipline, and enthusiasm. Guided by the continuous support and commitment of their English teachers, students worked consistently to strengthen their vocabulary, pronunciation, spelling accuracy, concentration, and public speaking skills. The preparation process involved not only memorizing words, but also developing confidence, perseverance, responsibility, and the ability to perform under pressure.
The Spelling Bee became much more than a competition; it was an opportunity for students to challenge themselves academically and personally while demonstrating their growth in the English language. During each stage of the event, students showed remarkable courage, focus, and determination as they stood on stage and represented their grade levels with pride.
The semifinals and grand finals were filled with excitement, enthusiasm, and school spirit. Families, teachers, coordinators, and school authorities came together to support our participants and celebrate academic excellence within our community. Each round reflected the hard work and preparation that students and teachers have carried out since the beginning of the year.
Competitions such as the Spelling Bee provide students with many valuable benefits. In addition to expanding vocabulary and improving spelling skills, students strengthen their listening comprehension, pronunciation, memory, concentration, and quick-thinking abilities. They also develop important life skills such as self-confidence, resilience, discipline, and emotional management while speaking in front of an audience.
We would like to extend our deepest congratulations to all participating students from every grade level. Their effort, commitment, and positive attitude made this event truly special. We also recognize and sincerely thank our English teachers, Professor Julia González Larson, Professor Rubén Mitre Becerril and Professor Jorge Manuel Neri Torres, for their dedication, guidance, and extraordinary work in preparing students throughout this process.
At Instituto Piaget, we firmly believe that academic experiences like the Spelling Bee inspire students to continue growing, learning, and believing in their own abilities. We are incredibly proud of every student who participated and represented our middle school community with excellence.
Congratulations to all our finalists and winners for an unforgettable Spelling Bee 2026!
